CIRCUS GERBOLA'S CIRCUS SCHOOL
For all the budding talent out there, Circus Gerbola have now opened their Circus School to the public!

Have you ever dreamed of flying through the air in a circus Big Top? Or doing summersaults on a trampoline? Or finding your own clown face and making children laugh their heads off? Now you can make that dream come true by training with Circus Gerbola's Circus School.

How it works:
Your group come to the Big Top and workshop circus disciplines with a team of highly skilled professional tutors. During these workshops, you can choose to learn ground skills like juggling, slack wire, foot juggling, poi, stilt walking and trampoline or you can go up into the sky and learn aerial skills like aerial hoop, aerial silks and Corde Lise. Workshops are great fun and at all times, participants are learing something be it the skill itself or learning how to assist a learner.

The school has a flexible policy and workshops can be tailored to meet the needs of a particular group eg. One hour, one and a half hour or two hour workshops. Although it is best for participants, especially under 18s, to be of a similar age, it is possible to hold workshops with varied ages (for reasons of child protection, we cannot hold adult and child workshops together).

Our tutors can also come to your space to teach skills on your own home ground but please note that it is not always possible to erect aerial rigging in certain venues.

Then What?
If your group has worked hard within a minimum of 4 workshops, Circus Gerbola will invite the group to perform in the Big Top as part of a real circus show and you get to show off your newly learned skills in front of a live audience! Now, don't worry, you'll also be taught performance skills and you'll have the cues drilled into you, after all, the audience has paid in to see YOU!

Learning Outcomes:
  • As circus is an international discipline and holds no barriers to age, gender, nationality, cultural or social background, these barriers are transcended
  • participants will be exposed to alternative ways of living and working
  • the depth of training and commitment required to become a professional circus performer will become apparent
  • participants will have workshopped a new physical skill

If you would like to book circus workshops for your group, or would like further information on the school, please phone Annette on 087 7436722.
