Horse Riding Killarney National Park
Dates: Sat 23rd July to Sun 31st July ~ Times 10am, 11.30am, 2pm, 3.30pm, 5pm

The trails go through the Killarney National Park, north of Lough Lein, taking in views of Ross Castle and Ross Island, panoramic views of Innisfallen Island & surrounding mountains. All rides are supervised by guides with special care taken of nervous or beginner riders, all levels of riding experience are catered for. Children must be 8 years old and upwards.

The Kerry Way – Killarney National Park
Dates: Sat 23rd July, Thurs 28th July, Sat 30th July - Time 9.30am

This leg of the Kerry Way is all within Killarney National Park, habitat of the only pure herd of Irish Red Deer. Starting in the ancient oak woods of Derrycunnihy, you can walk the line of the Old Kenmare Road, regarded in medieval times as the most westerly route in the world! Cores Cascade could be the ideal lunch stop in the moor/bogland beneath Mangerton and Torc mountains. Views and opportunities for photographs continue on the descent beside the spectacular Torc Cascade and the stroll by Muckross Lake into the gardens of Muckross House (19th century mansion), with its welcoming teashop. There is the option of extending the walk to visit to the ruins of Muckross Friary (15th century).

Climb Corran Tuathail / McGillycuddy Reeks
Dates: Sat 23rd July, Sat 30th July - Time 10am

This ascent of Ireland’s highest-and most majestic mountain peak begins with a hike along the valley floor of An Com Caili, or The Hag’s Glen beneath the main Ridge of the Reeks. The route takes a series of three hanging valleys spectacularly located below the north face of the mountains. On a clear day, the views are unsurpassable over the south western corner of Ireland.

Rock Climbing – The Gap of Dunloe
Dates: Sun 24th July, Tues 26th July, Thurs 28th July, Sun 31st July - Time 5pm

The crags of the Gap are home to some three hundred rock climbs of varying grades of difficulty and ranging from short, single pitch climbs to long multi-pitch routes on wild mountain cliffs. These climbs are led by local climbers and guides who have been centrally involved in establishing the Gap of Dunloe as a major climbing venue.

History and Archaelogy Tour of the Killarney Valley
Dates: Sun 24th July & Sun 31st July - Time 2pm

From the sacred Paps, the breast of the powerful land goddess Anu through the river valleys of the Flesk and the Laune to Dingle Bay and dominated by the highest mountain range in Ireland, the greater Killarney valley hosts some of the most powerful landscapes in Ireland. From the mesolithic hunters and the earliest copper mines of the first farmers through to the English conquest, the valley is speckled with a spectacular range of field monuments...and all woven into the rich tapestry of history, myth and folklore.

Purple and Tomies Mountains Hill Walking
Dates:  Sun 24th July & Sun 31st July - Time 12:00 noon

This hill/mountain hike traverse the mountains forming the east side of the rugged Gap of Dunloe pass. Ascending from the Head of The Gap, the walk is ascends gradually to the summit of Purple via the tiny Glas Loch (green lake) with spectacular views over the Killarney Valley and wider South West. The lofty peak of Tomies is one of the finest vantage points in the district.

The Kerry Way – Kells to Glenbeigh
Dates: Mon 25th July - Time 9.30am

From the lush and sheltered inlet of Kells Bay, this spectacular section of the long-distance walking route traverses the slopes of sacred Drung Hill. Following an early medieval track the way provides expansive views over Dingle Bay and Peninsula while taking the walker through landscapes rich in archaeology and myth.

Gap of Dunloe – Killarney Valley Day Trip
Dates: Mon 25th July & Weds 27th July - Time 11am

We go on horseback or carriage through the Gap of Dunloe, hewn two million years ago by giant, slow moving ice. Looking out at Serpent's Lake where legend has it that St Patrick imprisoned the last of the great snakes. Here we change to boats to float down the first of Killarney's three famous lakes, the Upper Lake. This lake is surrounded by a huge natural oak woodland.

Killarney Lakes and River Canoeing

Gentle Canadian-type canoeing on the lake and river waters of Killarneys Loch Lein and River Laune, this voyage bring one up close and quiet with the nature of the region along a waterway steeped in history and archaeology.

The Kerry Way – Glenbeigh to Glencar

Dates: Tues 26th July - Time 9.30am


You walk from the seaside village of Glenbeigh, ascending gradually to circle Seefin Mountain. Views over Dingle Bay and Lough Caragh reward you and give scope to the photographer. Stroll downwards into the lush valley of the Caragh River in storied Glencar. Blackstones Bridge could be the ideal luncheon spot before continuing through Drombrane Wood and along the banks of the Caragh River to finish.

Killarney Lakes Kayaking
Dates: Tues 26th  July & Thurs 28th July - Time 9.30am & 12.30pm

Explore the Lakes of Killarney by kayak. This trip starts at Ross Castle, visiting Bronze Age copper mines and includes the option to visit the 6th century monastic site on Innisfallen Island.

Climb Corran Tuathail / Com Lothair Horse Shoe
Dates: Weds 27th July - Time 9.30am

This tough mountain walk ascend to the summit of Irelands highest peak along the crest of the McGillycuddy Reeks Ridge and the rim of the great glen of Com Lothair. The circumnavigation traverse over the second and third highest peaks en-route; Cathair na Feinne and Binn Chaorach linked by spectacular section of ridge.

The Kerry Way – The Black Valley
Dates:  Fri 29th July 10.30am

The dramatic, ice-carved Black Valley has an alpine appearance. Walk through the peaceful, remote Black Valley, followed by a walk through the internationally known Gap of Dunloe with an opportunity to finish the day with an Irish coffee at Kate Kearneys Cottage. Distance: up to 16km / 10miles Ascent: up to 400m / 1,300ft

Struicin Mountain Hillwalking
Dates Fri 29th July - Time 4.00 am

Following an old turf-cutters track that easily switchbacks up the western slopes of the Gap, this satellite peak of the McGillycuddy Reeks provides majestic views over the plains of central Kerry, the Peninsula and Bay of Dingle and close-up mountains and Gap itself.
